What a beautiful Sunday we had this past weekend for the 14th running of the Silver Dollar Showdown at Silver Dollar Showdown in Reynolds, Ga. Saturday afternoon the cruise in at Steak n Shake in Warner Robins started the weekend. There were over 30 VWs cruising the lot off and on for the afternoon. That evening, some VW Enthusiast came out to the track and had a big bonfire and camped with their friends for the evening.

Sunday started out busy, with many of you coming in early! The drag race pits started filling up with over 20 racers from the area, NC, VA, TN and FL. From Drag Beetles, Ghia's, watercooled and Dune Buggies down the strip, we had it all. Even a few non VWs that wowed the crowd with some awesome numbers. In the end, Clint Woolard took the Super Pro win away from David Wegner. In Pro class we had Gary Brown in Goin Postal take the win over local Mike Chambers. Sportsman Class had SEVWA 2013/14 Champion Trey Sikes in his 2010 Jetta TDI Sportwagen taking the win over local Eddie Lamerth in his rail.

The show car area had some Trikes, Beetles, Type 3s, Buses, Ghias, quite a few watercooled Jetta's and Golfs too! Many clubs out and  having a wonderful warm day in the sun with their VW Buddies. We only had a total of 46 that registered to be in the show, but there were well over 150 in the VW area, just out and having a good time. Those guys that registered to be in the show, when award time came, they got some special prizes from our sponsors. 2 Stoners Car Care gift packs, some VW Jewelry, shirts from Snap on Tools and a Autometer Certificate. Top honors for Best of show went to Joe Griffey of McDonough, Ga with his red 69 Beetle. Gorgeous VW inside and out and this car will be on display at the Summit Store in McDonough through April 11th. Congratulations on that honor! There were quite a few other beautiful VWs, as well as Daily Drivers at the event. Check out the awards below, for all the results.

The Swap meet, did you find yourself something? I bet you did! There were over 20 vendors out with all their goodies and even some VW Projects as well. Vendors came out from the local area, but as far as Ohio and Florida. Thanks to all these guys for cleaning out and coming to the show for you guys to go shopping!

We hope that you guys all had a good time and look forward to March of 2016. Until then, support your local and regional car shows. Without YOU, these shows can not exist. Take a look at our schedule and maybe you can attend another one of these as well.
