Thanks
to everyone that came out for the weekend events. We wish
the weather could have been a bit warmer! We still plan to
be back in 2011, but maybe move to September. What do you
think?
The Dyno
Day had 9 participants and everyone that attended had a good time.
The folks at RPM Performance did a great job and they even gave each
one a video of their run and also posted them on their website for
everyone to see.
Sunday
started out clear, but gave way to clouds and that wind machine that
wouldn't stop blowing! Around 25 racers and 37 show cars showed up
for the event. Maybe the weather kept the rest away? We hope that in
the future, if the date is moved we can get more of you out to enjoy
the event. Do you have any comments or suggestions as to what we can
improve on for the event? If so, please let us know by using the contact
info button on top of the page. We welcome all comments good or bad!
The racing
started on a bad note, as local Howard Flippen almost flipped down
track. He had some oil coming from his valve covers and his tires
got some oil on them and there he went, but thanks to his all fiberglass
body, he was ok and the car only suffered minor damages. See the
race results page for a complete list of winners and times.
The show
area was on the lite side this go around and Karl Wood came out on
top with his 57 Beetle. Many nice VWs out there such as Vince Powers
65 Ghia and Darryl Allen's 66 Deluxe Bus. Check out the results
below and photo link above.
As in
years past, we have had the Vintage Street Challenge, but this year
we only had 3 that wanted to participate. We certainly appreciate
Kurt Mezger for coming down to run this portion of the event, but
with a low turnout, Kurt decided to give each participant $75 just
for their support. Special thanks go to Ann & Kurt Mezger of Vintage
Performance in Delaware for their continued support over the years
with this class. We will be looking to still continue the event, but
may move it to a different event.
We would
like to thank you all for coming out and supporting the event.
Without your support these events can't happen!
